Drawn every Wednesday and Saturday night, California’s SuperLotto Plus is a powerhouse lottery that has awarded over USD$27 billion in prizes since it began in 1984. How to Play

For SuperLotto Plus, numbers are drawn from 2 machines – the first contains 47 balls numbered from 1 to 47 of which five balls are drawn, and the second machine contains 27 ‘Mega’ balls numbered from 1 to 27 of which one ball is drawn. In a standard game, players choose five numbers from the first range of 1 to 47 and one Mega ball number from the second range of 1 to 27. To win the jackpot, a player must correctly guess all five main numbers as well as the Mega ball.

Taxes

In California, there are 3 tax brackets on lottery wins. Tier 1. Tax-free on winnings up to $600. Tier 2: Between $600.01-$5,000 is subject to a tax rate of 28%. Tier 3: Winnings over $5,000 are subject to a tax rate of 25% or for non residents 30%.
