Sweden Lotto
Sweden Lotto is often referred to as Drömvinsten, or “Dream Win” and is drawn every Wednesday and Saturday night. It is one of cheapest lotteries to play and has some of the best jackpot odds – the odds of winning the jackpot are 1:6,724,520. Compare this with 1 in 76,767,600 to win Aussie Powerball and 1 in 45,379,620 to win Oz Lotto. Best of all, Swedish Lotto actually draws two separate sets of winning numbers in each draw, doubling players’ chances of winning! There are only 35 numbers to choose from and with 22 numbers drawn it’s almost hard not to win something! Swedish Lotto has paid out some huge jackpots with its record just over 215 million SEK (approx. $32 million).
How to Play
For Swedish Lotto 7 main numbers are drawn from a machine containing 35 balls numbered from 1 to 35. There are also four bonus numbers drawn which act as supplementary numbers used to decide the second prize. To win the jackpot, a player must match all of the seven main numbers, regardless of the bonus numbers. This process is repeated essentially doubling players’ chances of winning.
Taxes
As with many European lotteries, prizes are tax-free.
Odds of Winning
Odds of winning a prize are 1 in 59, and the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 6,724,520.
