Oz Lotto

Oz Lotto (also referred to as Super 7’s or Oz 7 Lotto in certain states) takes place every Tuesday night and is one of the few lotteries in the world in which 7 numbers are drawn from the same ball set. There is a starting jackpot of $2 million, which rolls over to the following week if not won. The jackpot rolls over to a maximum of 25 consecutive draws at which point if the jackpot is still not won, the jackpot will be awarded to the second prize division. Oz Lotto has the honour of holding the record for the two biggest lottery jackpot wins in Australian history. It first broke the record in 2009 when $106 million was won, but in 2012 Oz Lotto broke its own record when a $112 million jackpot was won. This jackpot still holds the record for biggest ever Australian jackpot win!

How to Play

For Oz Lotto, nine balls numbered 1 to 45 are drawn randomly to find the winning 7 numbers. The first 7 numbers drawn are the winning numbers and the last 2 balls are the supplementary numbers. The supplementary numbers don’t count toward winning the jackpot but do count toward prizes in divisions 2, 4 and 7. In a standard game, players choose 7 numbers from the set of 45.
